I've been really busy with some non wood working projects all week, but I did manage to find time to get a little turning done. The above change cup is made out of some very hard wood, probably a white oak, that I found in a scrap bin. I finished it with Walnut Oil to get that lovely color. It's about 3.5"-4" in diameter, and about an inch deep. Nothing exciting, but it sure looks nice, and feel good too. It was some of the hardest wood I've turned, and it fought me quite a bit. I think that my tools are a bit dull though, and I really need to sharpen them. I didn't have much time to work on this, so I just jumped in without sharpening, probably a mistake, but hey it all came out in the end.
